Got the item few days ahead of delivery estimate, Speedy Mobile is indeed speedy! The battery works great, full capacity and is brand new. However there is no retail packaging. The battery is well packed in a generic white box. I was initially worried that I got a non-Sony battery, but when I tested it, it works great. Now my Vaio Z36 lasts about 10 hours on light use! It frees you from having to bring the AC adapter and makes my backpack much lighter!

They have circuitry that talks with the laptop to report how much time left, percentage charged, etc. So if you buy an off brand, you may be required to flash the BIOS on your laptop to make it work with the battery. Then what if you want to use the old battery as a spare? This one is a Sony product and works perfectly out of the box. Don't take that for granted. One Amazon Market Place Vendor attached his third party battery to this Sony description. I call that fraud. Luckily I noticed the Vendor Description said they provided third party replacements. I wrote them an email before it shipped. They said, "Don't worry, we provide the flash software. It's as good as an OEM." I canceled the order before it shipped. Also reported it to Amazon. Anyway, this Sony brand is sweet. My old battery was not lasting the whole day. This new extended battery has let me forget about the battery again. Nice.
