My computer won't charge the battery on its own - when I take the battery out and plug into the charger - I get back to a full charge! It's great.

I purchased this for a Vostro 1400. It never fit well and had to be taped on to stay in place. Yesterday, the Universal Battery Charger started smoking and that was the end of that. Needless to say, I would not purchase this again.

My laptop refuses to charge my battery so this worked out as a good solution to replacing my motherboard (which is where I think the problem may be). It does the job but the method of connecting it to the battery is poor. You slide on the connector and hope it stays on. If I set it on the floor just right, it's OK. Overall, it works though so I'm happy.
