It's legit., April 4, 2012 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Thinkpad 170W Ac Adapter for W520 (Electronics) Initially, I was kind of concerned that this might be a cheap knockoff. However, it looks pretty close to the adapter that came with my ThinkPad W520.
In terms of construction, it looks identical. I received my adapter (and ThinkPad) in March 2012, and it appears that somewhere between the November 2011 build date on the adapter I bought on Amazon and the March 2012 date on my original adapter, there were a few label changes.
Otherwise though, I saved a bunch of money on top of getting it way faster than if I had ordered from Lenovo.

Have no fear, Amazon to the rescue. I ordered this item at 4:00PM and it was waiting at my hotel at 8:00AM the next morning. It is the exact same power supply that comes from the factory with the Lenovo W520. It was a little pricier than I'd like, but it did the trick.

Poor Design, January 31, 2012 By This review is from: Thinkpad 170W Ac Adapter for W520 (Electronics) I am constantly frustrated with the poor construction of the adapter end plug of the line to power. It is impossible to keep it connected & I often find my laptop battery is not powering up even though I have the adaptor connected to power. It is also large, ungainly & heavy. Do not buy this adapter.
